She Knocked the Door

One night I was home alone. I was 16 and just finishing my homework. My parents were out with my sister at a dinner party. I was invited, but being a teenager I really was not in the mood to deal with a bunch of 10 year olds. It was around 8 p.m. and it was dark by now, this took place during winter. We lived in a small house in the suburbs, a nice area and kind of isolated, but a gated community, so it was pretty safe.

I was putting my things away, when I hear a loud knock on the door, we did not have a doorbell, but instead a big wooden door. It was a clear knocking sound. I assumed it was my family, they don't usually knock the door, but sometimes they do. I was still putting my things away, when I hear a second loud knock, and now I was annoyed, I yelled "I´m coming, I´m coming", so I walked to the door, and without even thinking I open the door. There was no one out there, I walked outside to see if I could see my parents truck parked outside, and it was not there, at this point I´m not scared, but a little uncomfortable. I go back inside and make sure to lock the door. I took a couple steps away from the door, when I hear another loud knock (tap tap tap tap tap tap). Now I´m standing right next to the door, I know for sure it is this door, and not any other sound coming from elsewhere. I rush back to the door, and look through the peephole, there is no one there. I open the door in a fast motion, and then I see it, or feel it. this eerie cold feeling. Everything is pitch black, and suspiciously calm and quiet, there is not a single sound, no wind, no crickets, nothing, just plain silence.

I guess you are never aware of the sounds of nature, until it is really quiet, then you feel it. Goosebumps all over my body, and a cold sensation in my neck, as if frozen. I was just there standing in front of the door, looking, really paying attention of what was going to happen next. I knew by now that something was about to happen. I felt in complete touch with my animal instinct, my eyes were wide open, my breathing was low an quiet, my senses were all sharp, my heart was surprisingly calm but loud and then I saw her, or what I thought was a lady. It was more of a white mist in the shape of a human, it looked female that´s why I´ll call her "she". She was moving slowly, just passing by, I could just see her gliding right in front of my house and walked down the street. She had a horrible vibe, the air felt thick and frozen, there was no sound outside as if she had frozen everything dead. After a couple minutes of staring at her, she just disappeared into thin air, she was gone. It took me a couple of minutes to move, I was completely numb, frozen in fear. I took a deep breath and took a step outside my door´s threshold, I took a good look around and saw nothing, went back inside the house, and before closing the door, I realize that now I can listen to a cricket and trees. Everything was back to normal. Closed the door and sat on the couch in dead silence, just trying to figure out what had happened. I never saw her again, I never told my parents about this, but I learned one thing that day, evil exists and it is powerful.

 I bumped into the killer

I was living in Monterrey Mexico when this story took place. At that time, things were so bad security wise, that I would come back from work and just locked myself home and would not come out till next day for work. I was just there for a 3 month project. My building was an old building and there was no parking inside the building. There was a parking lot right across the street. So I managed to get a spot there and payed monthly.

One day, I came home around the same hour I usually do. I was parking my car and was talking to my sister, so I stayed in the car for a couple minutes more. I finished my call and locked my car, as I was walking towards the red light I notice there is something going on, there was a lot of people moving fast, some looked as if they were trying to hide. The feeling of fear around me was so strong, it was contagious. I immediately felt the need to hide, but instead I started walking fast, as my building was just a few meters away. As I was rushing to my building I bumped into this guy, he was not tall or big, but intimidating, his face was filled with hate, I just stared at him half a second and then turned my head away and continued my way. I made it to my building´s entrance, and the security guard was looking at me with a blank expression. He opened the door for me and we both went in. I sat on one of the chairs and he asked me if I was ok. I looked at him and asked "what happened?" and then he told me. Right outside my building there is an ATM cubicle, and a man was shot multiple times inside the ATM, he was not robbed, apparently he was hiding from someone, and that someone found him. That someone, was the guy I bumped into. My doorman saw the whole thing, and when he saw I bumped into this guy, he was scared I was going to get shot. We then learned this guy was a drug dealer, a big one.
